I heart pink

I noticed after I completed my spring line that I had a exceptional amount of pink.

I haven't always liked pink, though. It's been one of those friendships that develops after you hang out so long you suddenly realize that they're your bestest.

Here are a few of my pink creations this season:

The sad thing is, this is probably only HALF of my pink designs! So I starting to realize that I actually am in love with pink. It looks fabulous with orange, so fancy with black, chinoiserie-esque with red, perfect with brown...and the list goes on. I have decided that in my someday home, I will be painting a room pink.

But for the meantime, in lieu of having an actual address that's NOT the upstairs of my parents, I've collected my imaginary pink stuff. You know, just in case.

{ Breakfast at Tiffany's poster, Annechovie print from etsy, books box from Wisteria, paperweight from Iomoi, peacock feather wastebasket from Layla Grace, moroccan pouf from Serena and Lily, arrow decoupage tray from John Derian, pink storage bench from BNP Discount Furnishings, chest of drawers from Wisteria, pink agate bookends from ebay }

Build a room - the Sophia Bed

So I have this game I play when I flip through home magazines. I'll turn the page and pretend at I can have anything I want, but I can only have one thing from the spread..what would it be? Sometimes it's a piece of art, sometimes it's a chest of drawers. This time, it was a bed.

Once I choose my free merchandise, I'll decide that it's way too fabulous to go with my current boring menagerie of home goods, so I decide that I'll redo the entire room based on that piece of perfection.

So here is my room based on the "Sophia Bed" from Layla Grayce .

Bedside pic - frames from Pottery Barn, wire lamp from Wisteria, luxe alarm clock from zgallerie, leather journal from Barnes and Noble, decoupage tray from John Derian, chest from Wisteria, large clam shell from zgallerie

Other furniture - chair and sofa from Wisteria, silver etagere from Layla Grace, fabrics from Quilthome.com

"Save me!"

I'm a nut for older homes, and there's this stately fixer-upper in my town. It's on a gorgeous street in "the garden district", an old and historical part of Alexandria. I have never given it a second thought before, but as I was rummaging through the houses for sale, I stumbled across it again. (My husband and I are currently homeless living with my parents as we sell our Dallas home)

I got to thinkin and did some photoshop renovations (probably $40 - 50,000 worth of photoshop renovations).

The inside needs work, too, and I haven't gone inside to look at the layout, but there are two gorgeous fireplaces and wood everywhere. They don't build 'em like this anymore!

Vintage Champagne Rack

My lovely in-laws came in town this past weekend to help us pack some art and a few special items to move from our house in Dallas to Alexandria, Louisiana. Saturday morning we spent going through consignment stores and the usually fabulous Wisteria outlet (usually, because it was a bit of a let down this time).

Forever, my hubbie and I have been wanting a vintage French champagne rack. We found one at White Elephant on Industrial in Dallas for $599, but it was a tad too rich for our blood! Well, lo and behold, we walked into Consignment Solutions on West Lovers Lane and saw one for $289!!! They saw how in love we were and graciously got us an early Christmas happy. We pick it up tomorrow!

Artwork from Blanca Gomez

I stumbled upon these fabulously whimsical prints from Blanca Gomez at Velocity Art . I'm in the process of moving and have no house to move to yet. So in the possibility that I find some spectacular house with a little empty wall that is begging for a little whimsy, I'm getting these. They're only $30 a piece! I think these three framed in a row will be just perfect!

My Grown-up Christmas List - pillows!

I'm obsessed with pillows. I have about 3 boxes filled with pillows that I am not currently using and I haven't the heart to part with any of them. In case I wanted to add to my collection, which totally isn't out of the question, here are my favorites. Granted, one is just fabric, but I see a pillow in there dying to be born!
